Are you allowed to touch your calculator or data booklet during reading time?

yea you can go through the data booklet, in maths/physics you have to unattach the data sheet from the exam but in this case it already is unattached...i think. Either way, you ARE allowed to open/touch the data booklet during reading time.

And what do you also recommend doing during reading time - quick glance at short answer then suss out MC? or focus solely on one or the other?

Haven't exactly pinpointed what I'm going to do but I've been just having a glance at SA, figuring out the MC that can be done by reading and then finishing MC when writing time starts. What about you guys?

blitz through short answer to see how you need to pace yourself. make sure you're familiar with the content. then glance over mc, then start answering mc in your head

^ Most of the data booklet is relevant to unit 3... I think there's only one little section I haven't used this year.

As for reading time, I'd spend the majority of it looking over SA first, then doing theory MC if you have time.

For reading time i've found it best to just spend 5 minutes going through SA and just looking at the general topic for each question. Then just spend the rest on MC since you can usually get around 15 done before time's up.

Read over all short answers... it'll jog your memory and get your brain doing chem.
