For the further electronics people, did yous choose:

flat 5000V graph because time constant was huge (50s)
10 W for the transformer
Input voltage only for that usa voltage transformer thing.
only one diode blown

I'm still goin to stick with pointy since the LED's brightness is not a wave in the first place. If the resistor stayed constant, it would just be a flat line, it's not going to be fluctuating or anything. It's pretty much the same thing as the dimmers you have in your house for some lights.
