Hey monatron,
I'm also doing 1/2 food and tech this year. Before the year started, I talked to a friend who did 3/4 last year and she said the most important thing to understand is the theory behind the practicals. Because even though theory is one component of 1/2, she was saying that the theory component makes up more of 3/4 food and tech than the actual practical does because of the folio. My teacher (who is awesome), also said similar things at parent teacher interviews.

Something that has worked really well for me so far is learning all the definitions as I go along. So when I come to exams (which I had yesterday), it is a cause for barely any stress. Another interesting way to revise is to think about the complex processes used to create something as you eat it (eg. bread) and to go onto wiki answers or similar and answer any questions that relate to the subject. And even though it may seem like a complete waste of time, try to find some seminars for 1/2 food tech. There are not many offered, but from personal experience, the TSSM one was worth it.

Hope this helps, fellow 1/2 food techie!

Best decision/accident ever! I love it! My teacher is awesome, my class all get along really well, food tech is the highlight of my week  :). I love it so much I want to teach it when I finish school and I'm doing to a kitchen garden school for work experience.

Um yeah we did, well it was part prac and part theory. We made cheese and chive souffles, because we were doing eggs as part of the key foods.

Did you have a mid year exam for food? If so, how did you find it?

P.S. Hope my advice was of some use, or not too late!
