How is Physics similar to Specialist Maths???
Which is easier? Do you have to be good at maths for physics 3/4????

Doing specialist maths will make the motion component of physics seem like a joke.

They are only really similar for the motion component, but physics goes into things such as banked curves which spesh doesn't, but specialist goes through friction etc. to an extent to which physics does not.

You have to be reasonably proficient with maths to do physics, that is you need to be able to write out long equations without making mistakes, be mindful of units, and generally have a decent idea of what you're doing.

I would say physics is easier if you are looking at the bits in which they overlap, but on an overall basis they are hard to compare as they assess different things for 90% of the course. As for the complexity of concepts, I would say that specialist maths is a little more complex.

physics is similar to spesh in that you study motion in both. However in spesh its using calculus a lot more, and in physics your using pre-determined formula to solve pretty simple(relative to that in spesh) problems.

spesh doesnt really help with physics because by the time you study motion in spesh, you dont need it for physics anymore(unless your super speedy at finishing the spesh course). However doing physics helps with spesh because there is a bit of constant acceleration(from physics) in spesh towards the end, so you've got an understanding already.

Which one is easier? well thats probably physics for most people, it has a lot more simple maths and the concepts aren't that hard. Also it scales less, so thats a bit of an indication as well.

And no, you dont have to be great at maths for physics 3/4, it helps if you are, but theres no significant disadvantage of not being a maths god. One of my friends did physics and his only maths subject was further, and he understood the maths in the course just fine.

In short specialist kinematics will decide wheter you believe motion is easy or not. I always thought they were pretty similar except that in physics you were given variables where as specialist your given an equation. Sometimes.
