Context, as you know, is very broad...i'm doing encountering conflict, so what would be the best way to prepare for something that's so vague?
continuously write practise peices in your chosen form (expository, imaginatibve etc) or just go the whole hog and do a variety???

past VCEers...what did you do?

and current VCEers...what will you plan to do?
2010: TNT (39)
2011: English (42) | Bio (39) | Chem (35) | Jap (35) | Methods (36)|

ATAR: 95.50 ( i actually got my prediction! :D)

You can definitely practice writing essays - the more the write the better! If you aren't sure which form you'd like to write then do a variety, but after a few essays most people can narrow it down to 1 or 2 that they know they'd use for SACs/exams.

Another good thing is go do some research on real life examples to supplement your essays. Since you're doing encountering conflict, it's a really good idea to go on wiki and look up a whole bunch of different types of conflicts so that by the time you have an assessment, you have a few rolled up the sleeve that you can use. Try to look for unique and interesting conflicts that not everyone else is going to use (eg/ holocaust/WW2/sept 11 etc).

If you can't be bothered writing essays all the time, at least brainstorm like Water said, and I'd even go further to actually PLANNING your essay. Just because you have a good idea of what you want to write in your essay doesn't mean that you're going to do it logically and clearly. So writing out plans including your ideas and which examples you'd use is a great alternative to sitting down for an hour writing :D

Hey lieutenant, for me, I'm don't do "encountering conflict" but rather "Who's reality."

WHOSE REALITY?

As 24lover said, research and look out for as many real-life examples as you can. These are really useful, particularly for the formal expository style where you can include these along with text examples in your essays. Attached is a list I did up for identity and belonging, just so you know what I mean. :P

btw, quality not quantity ;)

and here's some shameless self-promotion:http://www.vcestudyguides.com/guides/context/encountering-conflict/additional-reading
You'll find a bunch of examples for encountering conflict there, somewhat equivalent to werdna's identity and belonging :)
