When using the TVM solver to work out something like 'the amount owing on a loan after x years', is it expected of us to write how we worked out the answer or do we just write the answer straight from the calculator?

When answering short-answer/extended-response questions, I assume you are required to show working out instead of just stating the answer. For example, your working out should look something like this:

N = 240
I% = 6.25
PV = 250 000
PMT = ?
FV = 0
PpY = 12
CpY = 12

Solving gives PMT = -1 827.3205…
Therefore, the answer is $1 827.32.

Hope that helps :)

Edit: However, this only applies for questions that are worth 2 marks or more.
