50 for biology in 08

Isn't bio the kind of subject where if you just memorise the whole textbook you will gun the exam guaranteed? If so then it would easily separate those who work hard and those who don't.
bucket:
lol its not.
you have to know all the stuff in the text book, and apply it to problems you've never encountered before.
yeah its harder than it sounds :s I only got an A in my midyear
shinny:
I thought so too, but DEFINITELY not. The problem solving/analysis questions (which make up the majority of the exam actually) are a BITCH to do sometimes, and it can get quite hard. Apart from that, theres always the problem of wording answers, and time management of course. So yes, theres much more to biology than just memorisation.
polky:
There is much more to biology than just memorisation - answering techniques are very specific. If you don't answer the question in the correct/preferred manner, you don't get marks.
Also, there is alot of explaining that can be very time consuming, so like shinjitsuzx said, time management can be a problem.
Even if it is very knowledge based, memorisation of a heap of information can still be overwhelming for some.
NE2000:
It's different from the other sciences in that its less calculation based and more recall and apply information.
