The "ANU represent" thread

--- Quote from: Eriny on February 17, 2008, 08:52:35 pm ---It's easier to get into courses at ANU than at Melbourne, for example. The degrees are probably as prestigious as each other (maybe ANU is a little more prestigious?) but the entrance requirements are dramatically lower. For example, law (or combined law) requires a 95 ENTER.

Supply and demand at its prime :)

How competitive is entry to the PhB Science program in regards to the ratio of applicants to available positions? The idea of an undergraduate degree with a research component appeals to me, but I don't really like my odds... :(
Eriny:
There aren't many positions available (I'm sorry, I have no idea what the ratios are) but you should give it a go anyway. I honestly didn't think that I'd get into the PhB Arts but I did.
applekid:
hi, do any of you know what the scholarship situation is like for ANU?
i don't think i'd be able to pull a 99.5+ so the national undergrad is probably out of reach?
does anyone know what else is out there?
(if i went i'd be doing arts/law or arts phb or arts (international relations))
Eriny:
If you're doing PhB then there is a very high chance that you'll get a PhB scholarship ($5000 p.a.), otherwise some colleges/halls may award scholarships and it's also worth googling the Hawker scholarship.
