unit 1 & 2 history does not correspond to unit 3 & 4 at all. So yes it is very possible to do unit 3 and 4 without unit 1 and 2.

I am currently doing Revs 3/4, without having done any history all through high school except for a semester of year 8 medieval history. I say you can most definitely do it without 1/2. History isn't like Maths, where you need to build up certain foundation skills/concepts before you can tackle others...you will quickly get an idea of how history 'works' after just a few weeks; there are so many common patterns across so many aspects of it that you can just keep applying the same bunch of concepts over the whole year.
