Commerce Majors

So those who plan on going to BCom at UoM, what do you want to major in?
I personally want to major in Accounting and Finance but I have been considering Economics as well...can you do a third major?

lol, no I don't think you can do a 3rd major because you won't have enough space! lol

I originally desired to do Actuarial (and still might after 1st yr, but highly unlikely now); however due to my burning and overwhelming passion for finance (I love you Citi, I really do <3), I'm going to major in it.

You won't be able to fit in a third major, and hence I don't think you're allowed to.

I'm majoring in Economics and Finance.

Ah darn, oh well Accounting and Finance it is then! For breadth I plan to do the law subjects available for my accounting accreditation thingo, does anyone know how many law subjects there are and therefore how many other breadth subjects I need to choose?

I'm doing three majors. I only told you the two majors I'm doing (and allowed) for BCom.

My other major is Chemical Engineering.

And no, i don't think you can do a third major, there wont be enough room. I think you need like 3 third year subjects.

Major in Business
Students who prefer to take subjects from more than one field of study can do so by completing a business major. A business major consists of six level-3 subjects from three or more fields of study within the core program.

You'll be doing compulsory first year economics anyway, so you have lots of room, time and information to help you decide whether you'll change your majors around later down the track.

I'm pretty sure there is a sequence of 3 law subjects you have to do for accounting accreditation.

Year 1. Principles of Business Law
Year 2. Corporate Law
Year 3. Taxation Law

So yeah, 3 more breadth subjects you need to do

Economics is hard
Finance was hard too...but more interesting...I was seriously considering doing a bachelor/masters of commerce majoring in finance (so I could go into investment banking or something because I heard they make lots of $$$) after engineering...
But commerce is too hard...for me....

Finance pays the most i think.....especially if you have honours and if you go into investment banking
