For most subjects (and PE in particular) you can only drop 1-2 marks on the exam to be guaranteed a 50.

You have 87.3254% chance. Don't ask me how I worked it out. It's complicated

In harder subjects, you can stand to lose quite a few marks in the exam, and still manage to secure a 50. However, in subjects such as PE, which are labeled 'easy', you couldn't lose more than 2 or 3 marks. Maybe a few more if the exam was particularly hard; but those are very unrealistic odds.

Not really; even in spec you can only lose a maximum of about 3-4 marks over both exams most years in order to be guaranteed a 50.

I think it's subjects that don't scale much either way that you can afford to lose the most marks on

Last year in P.E, the highest exam mark was around 90%. According to my teacher anyway... but just do the best you can, don't aim for a specific score on the exam, unless it's 100%!

Last year, according to Rob Malpeli (dude who writes the main textbook) you can afford to lose around 13marks and still get a 50!

It's out of 120 marks.

105 - SA

15  - MC.

Pretty sure Malpeli and Smyth would know the facts.
