I think if you can show that a CAS calculator could cope with it much better than a non-CAS calculator, then you're in business.

But considering that it only took 15 seconds for a TI-83 to solve() it, then I don't think the CAS can beat that by a great margin.

I have the strongest headache. I got 5 hours of sleep last night. I felt dizzy during the exam. I was about to faint. I was dehydrated, had no energy.

Dropped 3-4 marks.

Filing a formal complaint against VCAA for last part of last question. :) Taxed my calculator far too much, taking 5 minutes out of my time. Didn't have time to go back to a previous part to do a question that looked difficult and thus left. I had about 1 minute to do it after giving up on that stupid graph and I only got half of the solution out. Would be lucky to get 3 marks, will probably get 2 marks and if i'm very unlucky, 1 mark.

Overall, I think I got about 75-77/80 and am quite pleased with the effort.

it took me about 30 seconds to solve... but like 2 minutes to type  :?

Ah... that was sooo bad. Left whole questions blank. I was like wtf is arctan coz my mind went blank even tho I've done some of those questions a bazillion times.

And if enwiabe gets consideration 4 his calc, I want consideration 4 the piercing house alarm that was going off across the street  :(

10% increments ftw! ...I think...

I hope I did well in this exam... It was kinda hard
How were you meant to answer the very last extended response question? I couldn't figure out how to do it.
And also the one with the angle of elevation of the plane... I couldn't work out how to get the angle.

I noticed some inconsistancies... They used arctan for some questions, and tan^-1 for others. I used tan^-1 in all my answers, they wouldn't take marks off for using that as opposed to arctan, would they? (after all, they are the same thing).

I tan^-1'ed the whole thing.

My complaints: a few of the MC were uber hard for me and I had to guess
In that question with tan^-1, I accidently worked out two parts of the question together in the same step and realised it at the end, wasted like 4mins on that :K

The last question my calculator worked out really fast =) But I gave it lots of decimal answers to make it go quicker so only 1 integral for it to play with

Happy but :) Nothing left except chinese, which I don't care too much about.

CAS pwns. QED

IMHO, the CAS is a far more capable calculator, function wise. Personally though I find it more sluggish, particularly when graphing since I don't know how to reduce the resolution the way I did on my 84+. Gotta love the algebra though - that mulitiple choice Q with the vdv/dx - CAS saved my ass  :D

How did everyone cope with the heat? We were dying in our exam room - facing north in the most exposed building of the school.  :(  I was't surprised to see a heap of wet shirts afterwards.
