--- Quote from: Stephanie on September 29, 2008, 04:00:42 pm ---the ATP-PC system would be dominant, with energy systems just think INTENSITY and DURATION and you should be able to work it out. Because weightlifting is pretty much a clean action say with a snatch, it one explosive movement so the LA system wouldnt really have time to become dominant but say you were doing a few reps or something the LA system would become dominant after say the first rep as the ATP-PC system has been depleted.

Many weightlifters would also be taking creatine supplements, which prolong the amount of time you can use the PC system by about 20%

Memorising the reps/sets schemes that the course "teaches" is pretty important, however take it with a grain of salt if you want to do resistance training in real life. They really should be teaching PE students ranges of "time under tension" rather than the extremely subjective number of reps. I've seen so many different versions in the textbooks/summary books. Either way i'm going to memorise the one's vcaa thinks are right haha. /rant :)
