Hi everyone,
I'm doing philosophy for the first time this year and ultimately scratching my head in every lesson I have in it. Hope I can get some useful advice and tips on this forum. :)

Philosophy is awesome :-)
I'll be interested to see how people revise for the end-of-year. There really isn't that much support out there, and the study design is only two years.

i love philosophy. unfortunately our school doesnt offer it r else i would have surely done it as a 3/4.

however my tutor is a top bloke and feeds my hobby by always lending me philosophical texts and he always just has these huge debates and discussions with me.

The discussions, musings and debates are the best parts. The stuff that makes you go 'phwoar' :) the good life doesn't lend itself to that as much as i think unit 4 does. can you do philo as distance ed?

i considered doing a muep program. but i just couldnt justify having to drive like an hour away every week to do it.

hence thats when my tutor stepped in and was like. dont worry, just keep it up as a hobbby. so i just do lots of reading on the side.

Well I haven't been here in quite a while, and I must apologise for the messages I've inadvertently ignored. I've had a few people ask for my notes, but unfortunately the computer I was using during year 12 died, and as such I don't have any copies of my notes from 3/4 Philosophy. If anyone that I sent them to during '08 still has them and still frequents these boards, I'd really appreciate if you could send them back my way. I tutor at a UoM summer school and those notes would come in handy. And of course it'd be great to be able to share them with anyone who might be doing Philo next year.

Oh man, there must be like three people doing philosophy on these boards. It doesn't even have a post-exam forum :P
How'd you all (if there's an all) find it?
I was thrown by the good life, but everything unit 4 related was fine...ish. Oh well, last exam for me :)

I went pretty sweet for it. The good life and the mind were both pretty easy for me. Philosophy doesn't seem like a popular subject. lol, went to a lecture for unit 4, and our school got isolated from everyone else in the audience by three rows behind us, and about 20ish seats to the side. (We were in the front corner of the room). I think the private school kids were scared of us.
Methods (CAS), Physics, Chemistry, English, Philosophy 2010. Hoping to get into science at monash, should be easy, it's only a 73-75ish ATAR.
