HTAV lectures in Melbourne

<< < (2/2)

Nick:
Last year the France lecturer was giving out inaccurate information every second breath and frequently got confused with dates. It was embarrassing lol.

josh_kriek:
i went to america (ok) and russia (shit)
they should have the top shelf ppl doin those lectures like richard malone or steve thomson, not your average duds

JL_91:
I think Mr. Malone is very busy at the moment, which is probably why he couldn't do the HTAV lecture..his third child is due very soon (around November 13...exam day lol!!) and he sometimes can't even make it to our classes because he just has so many meetings to deal with (he is Head of Teaching and Learning Years 7-9 at CGS) every day!

I went to the first round of lectures HTAV offered earlier this year, and I found them very interesting. They always provide a nice snapshot of the whole revolution or area of study, but I would not rely on lectures as a key revision tool personally.

Amnesiac:
Haha very true. I found the Chinese lecturer to be very insightful. However, overall, i was hoping for a rundown of course content, mainly because i hadn't done a lot of revision at that point in time. I have done a lot since then.
Despite Nick's comments, i found the day quite helpful. It is amusing to know that your lecturer confused the dates though, lol. If a student can memorise a handful of important dates you would expect a high level teacher to do the same, haha. How amusing.

Ashhh:
I didn't find the lectures very helpful at all, I went with my teacher and I was sitting next to her and the lady who spoke for France basically told us what with in the study guide.

My Teacher had shown us a slideshow that she had made herself which had all the same info in it.

I did however find the Russia lecture to be quite helpful.
