By the end of this year, I'm changing my major to Chemical Engineering- if Melb Uni lets me (meaning I have one extra year added to my degree :(  )

i'm also hoping to become a chemical engineer and major in petrochemicals if there is a future in this area or mining. Second option would be something to do with finance.
One question that has always bugged me is if you go to let's say melbourne uni and you JUST pass every semester, would you still get the same or around the same pay as a person with HD's? Also do your scores in university really matter after 5 years in the workforce?
