Yes, but you're studying where as a lot of people choose ITA because they believe it's easy and can get a good mark without studying. The point still remains. So long as you do the practice exams and get a feel for the questions, a 40 shouldn't be too hard to acquire.

yeah I did much better than the ranked 1 student in the practice exam but I still worry because my depth of the questions are limited. I do really well on multi choice tho

Yeh, but which exams? I'm starting to find that a lot of the VITTA exam's multiple choice from 2007 + 2008 are complete rubbish. Most of the questions aren't relevant to the course at all, or just wouldn't be asked on a VCAA exam. What's more is the solutions for a lot of the multiple choice questions are wrong. If you're basing the thought that you're doing well on multiple choice from those exams, then I'm sorry but you've got another thing coming.

Oh my the VITTA exams are so shit, I'm getting pretty shitty marks on them which is lowering my confidence.

Ahhhhhh. I did Software Development last year. Had the number 1 rank, did 1.5 hours of study for end of year. Got an A. Got 40.

This year, I'm doing ITA. Ranked like 6th/25. But i'm gonna own this exam. Got 20/20 for MC and 60/70 got Short Answer for practice exam, hadn't studied at all. MUST OWN THIS! Lmfao.
