Speciation...
bucket:
Is allopatric speciation the only mode of speciation that we really need to know about?? my textbook doesn't seem to cover any of the other modes but I've heard we need to know others. It wouldn't be the first time my textbook failed me either, it discluded some things we needed to know for unit 3 as well.
JL_91:
Well when we were learning about speciation, my teacher definitely emphasised allopatric speciation, but he also set us a workbook sheet to just read over (not do) about sympatric speciation. So my take is - it's worth knowing a little about other modes of speciation, but definitely maintain your key focus on allopatric.
