AEROBIC SYSTEM

<< < (3/3)

jakeburn:
they say in the nelsons book that resent studies show that it can come in as soon as 30 seconds 75 jest seems to long for the LA system to be predominant

juzzyfizzle:
75 secs is when it is at it's peak power.

chris1991:
We have been advised this year that the figure has changed to 30 seconds (it becoems dominant) rather than 75, and VCAA will be looking for 30 seconds in the exam from now on.

mtwtfss:
it depends.

jadfarry:
There are two aspects that need to be considered:
1. Which energy system is dominant at a specific point in time. I.e. the system that is, at that point in time, contributing the most amount of energy towards ATP resynthesis.
2. Which energy system is dominant over a specific time interval. I.e. The system that has contributed the greatest net amount of energy over the time period specified.
In terms of the aerobic system:
1. It becomes the dominant contributor of energy from the 30th second and onwards.
2. It has contributed the greatest net amount of energy from the 75th second mark and onwards (interval 0-75+).
