ok so i'm getting really confused over the written responses in regards to performance techniques linking to the style of the pieces performed. since there are no example responses in the vcaa assessment reports. how do you suggest i go about answering these questions?

eg of question from 06 music group exam
Describe 3 individual performance techniques you used to enable your group to realise characteristics of the style in your performance of one of the works that you identified (on previous page). In your answer refer to the following...

- interpretation of rhythms and/or rhythmic patterns
- articulation
- phrasing
- dynamics

So firstly, is there a particular LIST of performance techniques that are generally used throughout performance...?

Those 4.

I think the list should've been given out to you by your teacher of things they could potentially ask you, but in the exam - you'd answer from the given list.

I've already done the exam. It was pretty shocking cos our audio and papers got stuffed up. Who knew that so much could have gone wrong for an exam sat by SEVEN people. Anyway, don't think i did so good but we've lodged complaints to VCAA cos of the errors which caused us to lose quite a lot of writing time...grrr.

Thanks anyway.
