Ummm.... Do you know exactly which examiner's report you read them in???

Yeah but I understand the pickle you're in... this art exam is supposed to be the easiest and I really have no idea what to study...

I'll go through the examiner's reports now and see if I can find it... I'll have a look at the study design too for ya.  Maybe I'd understand it if I saw what context it was in...
I can only try...

tonal structure? do you mean like high-key, low-key mid-key? or something?

I don't know. Have you studied tone? It'd just be the same as that, wouldn't it?

don't stress about it. There's not much to it...in relation to tone:

mostly darks = low-key
mostly lights = high-key
mostly mid-greys = mid-key   &
half and half = balanced between high and low key

the other basic properties of tone are:
 - lighting: where from/direction?
 - artificial or natural?
 - sfumato? chiaroscuro?
 - effect on images? (i.e. flat or solid due to tonal modelling...)

its just one small part of the formal analysis, so just write about other formal elements instead of tone :) unlesss its the first question of course.

tonal structure, is aurlie stated.

A good word to use , is chiarscuro i forgot how 2 spell it, but i fugging loved it:) and sounds pro. It means great contrast i think between colours or tone.
