hi im in need of some advice on whether it would be possible to get a good study score for English Language units 3 and 4 without having done units 1 and 2. I am currently contemplating on whether to do english or english language or both, since if I dont do well on english language it wouldnt matter as much because i am doing a total of 6 subjects and the study score i get get for el counts towards only 10% of my enter.
If I dont end up doing el, then my sixth subject will be business management which leaves me to do english which i dont enjoy and im not good at it. Should I take the risk? =/ Im more leaning towards doing both but the main disadvantage is that it may affect the time spent studying on my othe subjects.
btw I have to decide by today so if you could give me some advice then I will be very thankful. =)

It really depends what standard of student you are. If you are the type of person that is likely to get around 30 study score then I dont think it will make much of a difference which one you do. If on the other hand you are fairly inelligent and likely to score between 40 and 50 then I would do both. This is due to the fact that sadly, these high end scores can come down to luck in subjects such as enlish. So if you do both you will be minimising risk as at least one will have to be in the top 4. An example of this is a friends who was after a 99.95 and although not super at english took both literature and english and worked VERY hard at both. He ended up getting a 43 in enlglish and I think 48 in literature, so it sort of halves the risk with those high end scores.

Ok thanks for the advice. I've decided to do both next year and if Im able to get a clearer idea of which English Im more capable of doing, then I will drop one of them and just do 4 subjects next year.
I can only think of 2 disadavntages of doing both and that is time may be watsed doing a subject that i may drop, the time spent on both eng+eng lang may affect my other subjects and lastly i lose the extra 10% if i end up dropping one of them.
Can you think of anymore?
If not, then I'm most likely be doing both as trying to choose b.w the 2 is too hard.
