I heard TSFX summer school was quite good from the people that went to it at the start of 2008.

I went to the Biol Lectures at the start of 2008 and I thought it was pretty good too...
I just thought I should try something new and TSFX costs heaps as well for me to enroll in 5 subjects......

I don't really see the point. Yeh sure, you're going to learn things, but you'll eventually learn them again later at school anyway. Learning something you already know (assuming you actually retain it 'til then, which is actually quite unlikely) doesn't necessarily make you any better at it. The only type of people I'd recommend these for are those who struggle at understanding CONCEPTS, and in that regard, I wouldn't recommend these for any theory-based subjects since I don't think anyone really struggles with those, and only maths+sciences if you tend to struggle to understand stuff the first time around. But overall; save your money IMO.

Hmm, i don't see much point going to summer school. As shinjitsuzx said, you'll learn it during the year anyways. Imo, this is probably the worst time to spend the money, as they won't be teaching you anything really difficult just yet, coz it'd be too much to take in when you haven't been through the entire course. So all you will be learning is the basics, which you should be able to do learn yourself, or with the help of teachers at school, which are free :D

You'd be much better off learning on your own for now... and saving the money :P lol
And if you don't feel that confident without some extra help, spend that money on a tutor through out the year, or for revision lectures at the end of the year :)

You read wrong :P It's Melbourne uni, not Melbourne high. Uni students are fine. There's plenty of uni tutors here, too :)

im going to the summer school program as well as part of the KLDYS program. It only cost me $40,  plus we do extracurriclar activities and they give revision booklets out. Its also taught be people who have completed VCE not long ago so it'll be very informative. And if u dont learn anything from the program, having 'fun' is apparently guarnteed!

KLDYS = Kwong Lee Dowse (unsure of spelling:P) Youth Scholar?
How much of a discount did you get?
