Revel, the thing that annoys me is that he went off and complained to ponting, who together went and complained to the match referee.

This shows that Australia cant take a sledge, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO TOOK IT TO FAR.

Everyone agrees that What happens on the field stays on the field, symonds and ponting didnt do this.

All the years AUstralia taunted rest of the world, no one complained, but when suddenly someone mocks an australian its a big issue.

Yeh because racism should always be tolerated you know.... pfft

Yes. Australia took it too far by reporting blatant racism...

What the hell are you talking about. There are rules that you do NOT cross in any circumstances on the sporting field. Race and religion are among those.

"What happens on the field stays on the field" is utterly ridiculous.

Where do you draw the line?? For instance, is it ok for someone to taunt someone else for losing a family member(I have heard of this happening on the grass roots sporting field)??

You've got to draw the line somewhere ganges. The sporting field is not immune to societies rules.

I believe (purely in my opinion) that everyone is in some way or form, racist at some stage in their life. The difference is whether people choose to verbally make their thoughts known or keep it to themselves. Also, me being a racist depends on what you define as being racist. People may find your username "kurrymuncher" offensive. Does that make you racist? Racism is too subjective and too broad in my mind for ANYONE to have the audacity to call someone else a racist and not expect their own actions to be scrutinised and sound hypocritical. Also, is it your view that I am racist, or something you've read because that too changes things. Stop being so judgmental and labeling me a racist and try and consider the implications of your actions you slanderer.

Furthermore, you are attacking me rather than attacking my argument. You haven't actually condemned racism in sport like I have. Does that mean you advocate it? If so who appears to be the racist now?

The upcoming test series between the two sides discussed above should be an interesting encounter, especially given the events and controversy surrounding the last time these two teams played last summer. It was a great win by the Aussies when they last played in India 4 years ago, their first series win in india for 35 years. However with a weaker side, it will be a harder task to repeat the same performance. I'm predicting a 1-1 draw for the series.

No it wasn't. The case was thrown out after then Indian team and the the ICB(Indian Cricket Board) started making threats about pulling out of the series.

Still two players said they heard him say it, and he has been caught before doing exactly the same thing. I guess people can make up their own minds.

shit man, just hold on a sec. i never said u were a racist. i was just asking u if u were that guy from BoS. I just read it in some random thread and just pointed it out. im sorry if  i ofended you.

yes, people may find kurrymuncher racist, but what about that whole issue about racism being alright if i'ts directed at your own culture, like russel peters to India or Sacha baron cohen to judaism. I dont know, my english teacher was telling us that people like "Borat" can get away with being racist simply because he is discriminating his own kind. I dont know,

If anyone has a problem with my name just tell me.:)

Sacha Baron Cohen is able to create humourous characters from *other* races, because he's Jewish and the Jews are known for so often having been persecuted and being a minority race. A Kurd could probably get away with what he has done. However if it were someone from a mainstream race or religion portraying Jews in that way, I think the reaction would be different.
