And that was a thrashing was it?

Australia dominated the whole Commonwealth Bank series only to stuff up the two finals. Yes, the finals are what matters but you cannot just say Australia was "thrashed" when overall, they won more games than India in that series.

So what, they still lost. It doesnt matter that they won more games, they still lost the series in their home country.
The Australian cricket team is pathetic now. Most of the experienced players have left and now it's up to players like brad haddin and Brett lee to carry the team. Everyone knows that the australian team is quickly declining and imo the team will be nothing in another ten years.

Dont try to defend a team that employs dirty tactics(sledging, racism) to win a game and then boast about their own superiority.

Ok firstly.
Theres nothing like seeing Australia getting thrashed
Thats what you said, and I wasn't arguing Australia lost. What I was saying was that they didn't get thrashed as they actually won more games than India throughout the series. Get your facts straight. Actually reading what I said wouldn't go astray. ;)

Secondly.
Dont try to defend a team that employs dirty tactics(sledging, racism) to win a game and then boast about their own superiority.

So Australia are the dirty team after last summer are they? Hmmm... Harbajan Singh calling Andrew Symonds a monkey.. that ring a bell to you mate?

Sledging is a part of most sports, and there is nothing wrong with it providing it doesn't get personal and or overstep boundaries(race, religion etc.). However, it's a bit rich to call Australia racist when we all know Harbajan called Symonds a monkey on MORE than one occassion, the latter of which was last summer.

Don't kid yourself. All teams sledge. It's easy to point the finger at Australia because of their complete and utter dominance of all forms of cricket in the past decade, hence other teams/nations will not like them and call them "cocky" etc.

Thirdly.
The Australian cricket team is pathetic now. Most of the experienced players have left and now it's up to players like brad haddin and Brett lee to carry the team. Everyone knows that the australian team is quickly declining and imo the team will be nothing in another ten years.

Pathetic? Lost all experienced players? Sounds more like India to me.

Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virenda Sehwag are ALL RETIRING in the next year or too. Australia have a huge pool of talent to chose from so you can tell yourself all you like that they will be shit but it won't come true. Granted, Warne, McGrath, Langer, Gilchrist etc will all be huge losses but the domestic competition has enough depth to cover these holes made, and nuture through the next superstars of cricket.

Ok, so HB  singh called andrew symonds a monkey, thats just one incident. There has been many more incidents where the australians have been involved in racism. eg, when Darrell lehman called one of the Sri lankan players a black bastard a few years ago. Only because HB singh says one thing, everyone is on his back. He wouldnt have called him a monkey if Andrew symonds didnt say something first.

Yes, i agree, Sledging is apart of most sports. But once you see players showing descent to umpires, constantly heckling batsmen until they cant take it anymore, then it has gone too far.

It doesnt matter that India is losing all its players. First of all, India bet Australia in the CB series without any of those players except for sachin. They have a completely different one day team, and if they can beat Australia in their own country then thats saying something.

What do you mean when you say australia has dominated all forms of cricket. Didnt India win the T20 world cup last year. Australia didnt even make the finals. Dont kidd yourself, the australian team is nothing like wat it use to be 10 years ago.

Im not even Indian, so i dont really care anymore.

He did it in India as well. Which makes it much worse by re-offending, shows he hasn't learned and is still obviously a racist.

As opposed to calling someone a monkey?

Well, I was referring to test and one-dayers. But ok, India are the best at twenty-20 if thats any consolation. But if we look at it your way, Australia beat India in 20-20 at the MCG last summer, does that mean India is declining rapidly and becoming pathetic? I think not.

I don't think theres any reason why Australias will "quickly decline" and become a "pathetic" side. Big names have gone yes, but if you think theres no talent left, you're just plain wrong. The Australian domestic competition is the strongest in the world, commentators have said it for years. One series loss doesn't mean all is lost. However, Australia is probably less likely to enjoy such dominance over the rest of the world without its guns, yet, theres no reason why it can't continue to win the majority of games as well as the large tournaments.

Revel, the thing that annoys me is that he went off and complained to ponting, who together went and complained to the match referee.

This shows that Australia cant take a sledge, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO TOOK IT TO FAR.

Everyone agrees that What happens on the field stays on the field, symonds and ponting didnt do this.

All the years AUstralia taunted rest of the world, no one complained, but when suddenly someone mocks an australian its a big issue.

I never said there wasnt any talent left in the domestic side. Im just saying that this happens to every team. One moment they are on top of the world and in a few years they're back at the bottom. Look at the west indies, 25 years ago, no one could even come near to beating them in a test match, and look at them now, They're like 8 or 9th on the ladder. All im trying to say is, dont expect Australia to be the pinnacle of cricket forever. Yes, the domestic team has talent like no other domestic league, but you cant expect young players to just come and rule the game.

Lets just leave it on this, im over this debate now, if you werent australian then you would love to see the aussie team get beaten in any match, no matter what country you are from. because the aus team win everything, every country will start to feel dislike for their ways on the field. Even the most simple win over australia will feel like a thrashing to any one who is from another country. Just leave it there unless you want to keep on going.
