Is there a PM inbox limit?

I've been sifting through PMs and deleting a few to leave space for incoming PMs.

I'm not sure, personally I have about 900, and nothing has been deleted yet.
I remember there is a setting accessibly by enwiabe somewhere, but he probably left the limit at 0 [no limit].

I guess if you want to delete useless ones, then go ahead; I usually delete old ones not because of the limit, but because they're too old and I have no use for them anymore.
