Lol, I agree so much. It had excellent visuals, nothing else was worth noting.

But maybe he wants to watch the best anime of the 3 in which case its clearly clannad, dont confuse him.

5cm/m sucked for me. Nothing happened in it. Ive seen more stuff happen in an intro than in the 60 minutes I wasted watching it.
To sum up (so many spoilers in it):
He gets on a train and they waste 10 mins showing him on a train
He watches a rocket blast off for 5 mins
Reminisce about past
Go to work
And the epic end, he crosses train trax at the end ..o.0

And thus the point of the anime is to show people who didnt know, that when people are alive, they usually go to work and watch rockets fly off if they like rockets. It also shows that when there is bad weather, using the train system isnt as fast as usual which may be hard to grasp the absurdity of it.

I loved the second season of Haruhi, Sighs and BLR were very well done. Endless Eight was epic xD (seriously, s1 had the whole played out of order gimic, so s2 needed something new, what would be better than to troll your fanbase)

I loved Haruhi as well. But I wouldn't say Endless Eight did them any favours, perhaps even having divided the fanbase completely into two extreme halves. Although I do agree on BLR/Sighs; they were pretty good =)

As for 5cm/s, I thought it was quite a remarkable film, given Shinkai's previous works (although I've only ever watched Voices of a Distant Star as well...)
