theres 3different chinese language course streams, for beginners, for people who did chinese 2nd language in vce, and for background speakers

i really want to do chinese as a breadth too, but i'm probably in between the beginners and vce students. i've been taking chinese lessons every week for a couple of years, so i'm not a complete beginner, but it's not vce standard. which one should i take?

No more commerce for me next year :( I'll hopefully get into teaching first then do a commerce degree =)

Collin Li:
Most people who major in Accounting would prefer to get CPA professional accreditation.

I believe this limits you from majoring in another stream of subjects. You can easily major Economics and Finance though, which is what I may do.

sheepz:
do we get to choose which chinese stream we take? im like in between vce 2nd language n background speakers! hence my chinese as a second language (advanced) lol! wonder if they'll force me into 1... ill prob do the vce 1 if i get to choose =)

elaine, where do u learn chinese from and what year level are you at now?

There's not much forcing that goes on in university. There may be pre-requisites imposed on higher levels of Chinese, but if you are on the borderline of those pre-requisites, usually you can get exemptions from those pre-requisites :)
