If I remember correctly there are two sessions for UMAT in Melbourne, one starting at 8am and another at a different time. Is this true?

Yep, that is correct. There's a morning session and an afternoon one (forgot if it was 1pm or 2pm ... there abouts).
I had the morning one last year. I think if you register early you'll probably get the morning, if later you get the afternoon? (this is from speculation and coincidence with the times my friends and I got).

The questions on each paper aren't in the same order. So you can't be: "FIRST QUESTION IS B B B B BB B B" to your friends. (but I think you can be: "THE ONE WITH THE COW IS A A A A  A AAAAAA" lol). Cheating is bad kids.

hmmm... thought there were too, thanks edmund and toothpick for the reassurance.

Which one is more beneficial, tbh, i don't have an optimum time myself.

If its too early I get headaches, and if its around 2.30pm my brain is like switched off

What is the exact time for the morning session, and afternoon? [when does it start]

Morning "arrival time" was 8:00am. I don't think the test started until 9am? It takes a while to get everyone seated/ID checks/bags put away. Arrive at the indicated time though. I think was I slightly late and didn't get to recover from the panic attack I was having, hahah (screw you Connex). Your seat is determined on arrival. If you go with friends they'll probably be behind/in front of you. Neither times are optimum (for me), I'd rather be sleeping/napping.
That said, I'm talking about the 'Melbourne' test centre (Caulfield Racecourse) ... Not sure if Bendigo. Geelong, etc work the same way.

Also, don't bother about trying to go to the later session to find out the questions. When people get out of there, they'll only remember like 5% of the paper since they're pretty brain dead after 3 hours. Of the ones they do remember, usually it's the ridiculously hard ones which no one could solve, and even granted time, most people would be unable to solve them and be sure that they're correct (if at all) since a large proportion of UMAT questions end up in a 50/50 guessing game (well for me at least).

Thanks for replies. Wasn't intending to go to a specific time as I dont have an optimum working period.

I think each test/question has its own weighings depending on difficulty so it's hard to say.

I read somewhere that there were 'dud' questions too. Ones that are just there for ACER's research puposes/experiments on what to put on future tests and are worth NOTHING. I'm not sure how true this is so don't quote me.

I heard the same thing from the MedEntry lecture, but yes, can't guarantee it's correct. Knowing this shouldn't really change your strategy anyway though so don't worry too much.

there are always the small  coaching collges, which work EXTREMELY well, infact more soo to your advantage, as class sizes are smaller etc etc,

there are many others then the Most advertised and are better..lol, trust me
