Could I just ask what chapter or topic this is, because that would probably help in solving it.
oops I didn't see your post, it's part of the trigonometry chapter :)

hahaha we're in the same boat xD but nah you guys are honestly the most intelligent of our generation (which isn't that hard, oops) you guys give me hope that there might be not be such a bad future for us humans after all (this is so cheesy ok bye)

There's different kinds of intelligence. Contrary to other's beliefs, I wouldn't even call myself intelligent or smart due to high standards XD

While some of you guys are figuring out the maths thing, I have a topic question. What do you guys think the future will be like?
Some of the things that I think will happen:
• The majority of the population will become YouTubers or 'instagram models'
• WW3 will occur with lethal, autonomous AI machines instead of human soldiers
• Antarctica will go down, along with precious resources, fresh water reservoirs and fossils
When faced with a problem, you either find a way or an excuse.

Got it, but the picture of my working is too big a file to send. I got the answer of exactly 15/sqrt(2), or approximately 10.606

As you can see in my rubbing out I accidently wrote square root instead of square and so I got a complex number whoops

So Sine explained to on his method on solving it to get 15.

What you do is get 3 simultaneous equations of pythagoras and then solve it from there.

I think you stuffed up in one part (or maybe it's just me).
In your working out, I got square root of 225 = 15 cm.

So Sine explained to on his method on solving it to get 15.

This method's pretty much like Squid's one.

I meant that, I followed your working out but had a different answer.
Maybe I just did it wrong, but at least we got the answer now.
Thanks guys :')

ooh. I'm working through the simultaneous and I think that it can't be 15, because at some stage it'll be 2y^2, which will be something over sqrt 2

ooooooooooh. I see my mistake! I accidently put the square root sign over just the 450, not the 450/2, which is 225. That would've given me the correct answer of 15. So that's two methods of doing it

2. FML kill me.
3. aargh fml kill meeeeeeeee

Honestly, I am really pessimistic about the future. I imagine some type of dystopian world where we are 'enslaved' by technology and there are food shortages and we have to fight for water and stuff omg that's so depressing.....  :(
