Does anyone know about requirements for the Dean's list? E.g., is there a 100 point requirement for any given specific year? Don't want to toot my own horn but I've heard of friends receiving invitation e-mails and from knowing their scores, I'm not sure why I haven't received one yet.
To the best of my knowledge, to be considered for the Dean's Honours List of level \(N\) (\(N\) being one of 1, 2, or 3), you'll need to have completed at least 62.5 points of subjects which are level \(N\) subjects and also have completed \(100N\) points for your undergraduate course. Details are scarce, but I believe the ranking is based on the average score across all your level \(N\) subjects which you've completed by the end of the relevant academic year of the Dean's list.
One of the points on the old policy (which has since been replaced with a vague one) said
A student should be considered every time they complete another 100 points at a given year level, regardless of whether those points are completed within a single academic year or not.
so it doesn't matter how long ago you completed them. Keep in mind you're only considered once at each level of your course's Dean's list throughout your entire undergrad degree.
If your friends aren't in the same undergraduate course as you are, then it may just be that their faculty has gotten around to compiling the Dean's list a bit earlier than yours has.
