Should I do Specialist Maths?

Hello, so next year I will be going into year 11 and I am currently in the process of subject selections. This year, in year 10, I have done math methods and have also accelerated into year 11 general mathematics. I have been recommended to do specialist maths for next year by my school.
Since I am in the process of completing year 11 general mathematics, is it wise for me to attempt to do specialist and methods next year as to give specialists a go? I can always go back to completing further maths in year 12 if things dont work out for me right?
After school i'm planning to do work in the tech field, either with computer science or software engineering.

From my limited knowledge let me tell you, although there will soon here be experienced ones that will help you. For the time being, I will try my best to help you.
Specialist mathematics is the mostly the  application of maths. From what I know, it is usually very inter-twined with physics, although this may be the case for Computer Science as well. I am not too sure in that regard. If you are a dedicated student that does not slack off even a day from start, and has a strong grasp of maths that you probably have right now, this is for you. You probably could have a trial with spesh next yr since your school also recommended it. And yes, I am pretty sure you can go back to further maths in yr 12 in case spesh is not ur thing.
