Hi guys,
Just need a little bit of help with this question.

A sample of an unknown hydrocarbon was found to contain 92.3% carbon by mass. The mass of carbon in the sample was 1.15g. What is the mass of hydrogen present in the sample?

Thank you :)

Since it's a hydrocarbon, the remaining mass is hydrogen, meaning it is 7.7% hydrogen by mass
92.3% of the mass is 1.15g, so 1% of mass is 1.15/92.3 = 0.0125g
7.7% of mass (hydrogen amount) = 0.0125*7.7 = 0.0959g
