Why are there so many different types of Islamic studies at UoM (atleast 20), mainly for breadth - second and third years mostly, yet I find zero for Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism etc?

I wouldnt have thought there would be such a massive interest in just this ONE religion. UoM just being politically correct?  :police:

How is having 20 subjects being politically correct?
Maybe you meant having a hidden political agenda or something?

Maybe there's a lot of academics interested in it?

Many subjects in the Arts faculty are based on the research interests of academics, and the subject offering will reflect this.

I would have considered "Islam and Human Rights" and "Muslim Women and Islamic Feminism" had I gone to Melbourne

UoM pisses me off. i've been there a couple of times and most of the ppl act as if they are on top of the world.
Monash is waaay better hands down. The ppl are much more friendly and the atmosphere is much more relaxed.
but thats my opinion.
