Think about it this war. Amplitude refers to the height of the curve, whereas frequency refers to how many periods has happened, or in other words, how many times that the high and low peaks repeat themselves. The best way to understand whether to tell what is high and low is to look at different curves and tell the difference.

Look at those curves. The lowest frequency is the red line on top. The highest frequency is the pink line on the bottom.

Could some one give me a hand in coming up with an ERA title, the ERA we did compared Mnemonic devices, Narrative Chaining specifically to Maintenance Rehearsal (pretty much like Bower & Clark's study). The best I could come up with was "Chaining Memories together" or "Memory Chaining", pretty pathetic I know but any help or input would be very much so appreciated.

Err I'm pretty sure maintenance rehearsal doesn't come under 'mnemonic' techniques.

I'd put something like:

"Comparing maintenance rehearsal to narrative chaining as techniques to remember information."

I like both of them, they're much more formal and classy than my attempts what do you think of this:

"An Investigation of Memory: Comparing effectiveness of Mnemonic devices to Maintenance Rehearsal."

You don't have Mnemonic deviceS - you only have one.

"An Investigation of Memory: Comparing effectiveness of Narrative Chaining to Maintenance Rehearsal _____________

Comparing its effectiveness for what? for capacity? duration? for the fun of it? because I feel like it?

Make sure you make it explicitly clear what your expeirment is about.

Eg my ERA title was:

Comparing the relative sensitivity (its so called 'effectiveness') of recall as a measure of retention when compared to Recognition.

Fair enough I see what you mean on the "devices", but the problem is we are restricted to 12 words I wanted to add in " on word recall" but it exceeded the limit. I think I'll scrap the first part and go with something similar to yours if you don't mind me doing that.
