Your team and any other teams ranked 1st in your region for your grade will move onto the 'State Final Series', which again takes place over several rounds. However this time each round is sudden death, so field your best team! Good luck

Check the DAV website regularly; they should be putting up Finals lists and draws pretty soon after Round 5 is over.

Yeah I am - have been since Year 9, but this year I've only done 1 debate. We made the Finals in Year 9, and for the last few years we've consistently finished 2nd in our region, but we've had pretty mixed results this year - I'm not entirely sure, I think Team 1 won all but one round, and Team 2 has lost 2..I need to check the ladders to know for sure.

Haha traditionally my school has an INTENSE rivalry with Wesley..especially in sport, not so much debating.
I think something that stuffed up our team's chances this year was the fact that the teacher (or someone...) decided to register our Year 12 debaters into 2 separate teams..and there were only 6 of us. So all hell broke loose when one of us wasn't available or suddenly pulled out! We started bringing in non-debaters to fill in. Bad, bad decision on the school's part...it wasn't a smart idea to do that to us in Year 12 - my mum wasn't happy either.

lol wesley's a big school though, they'd probably have an upper hand. But i mean my team has only 3 members and it's always us that debate and it's always us that win :p
