UNI STUDENTS: Volunteering opportunity for 2012!

Hi everyone  :)

If you're looking for volunteering opportunities this year - the Oaktree Foundation is currently taking applications for their 2012 Generate program which runs from mid-March to mid-October. (APPLICATIONS CLOSE MARCH 2nd).

For those of you who aren't already familiar with the Oaktree Foundation, it is an aid and development organisation run by young people aged 16-26. The main goal is to work towards ending global poverty by educating communities overseas, raising awareness in Australia and many other initiatives.

The Generate program fits around work and study and has downtime in June/July as well as graduation before exams at the end of the year. Successful applicants attend 2-hour weekly sessions - a total of 4 hours commitment per week is required of participants. Essentially, you will be learning about the complexities of global poverty and how to make real changes - then you will be putting your skills into practice!

To apply, no specialist skills are needed - just enthusiasm and a passion for making positive changes. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, I would seriously consider applying - it looks amazing on a resume, the people are super nice and it's a great experience!

I'm currently on an internship with the Generate team so if you have any questions just post them below and if I don't know the answer, I can ask someone for you!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your holidays,

Selina.
