I did manga.  It's overdone I think, but it's very easy to research, and getting props for it is as simple as buying a manga magazine (eg. Shonen Jump) from an Asian grocery.  :p

What did you talk about EZ?

I'm thinking of doing Studio Ghibli, not sure if that's too vague, but i'm starting so far,don't really know what the Detailed Study is meant to cover

Pretty much our whole class did Hikikomori (social recluses). It was quite an interesting topic, and never got too complicated so that was good. =]

Wow, these is so much more interesting that what any of our Yr 12s did last year. They all did School Rules, and Summer School.
I reckon Host Clubs would be heaps of fun to do :D

Our school did problems in the Japanese education system, and focussed mostly on bullying and the pressure students have to succeed and yadda yadda yadda. I sort of ditched them and did hikikomori instead. lol.

That's funny because Hikikomori stem from problems in the Japanese education system.

That's funny because Hikikomori stem from problems in the Japanese education system.

I should have probably phrased it more clearly, my bad. What I meant was while the other kids in my class focussed super strongly on bullying and hardly touched hikikomori, I went the other way around.

Would martial arts be any good? Or soccer - like the league in japan. Are there any car racing sports there like V8's or formula 1?

There is no 'good' and 'bad' if you're interested and well prepared then you can't go wrong!

Like's been said, you're better to pick something you're interested in, but make sure it's something with enough content, so you can actually talk about it. That is, make sure it's something with good and bad points, etc.

And no, I'm doing Jap 5/6 this year... why?

Escapism - addiction, controlling feelings, you can talk about how some women resort to Prostitution in order to feed their addiction in relation to visiting host clubs. I should just give you my report on it huh.
