Hey guys,
I desperately need to ask you a question. Looking at the VCE grade distributions for IT Software development, i figured out that to obtain an A+ for the written examination, you have to get a score that ranges from 137-186. Does that mean you have to get a mark of 137 out of 186 in the exam in order to score an A+?
Your help will be appreciated. :D

In 2007, yes, you only needed 74% to get an A+ on the exam. However, that changes from year to year based on everyone's performance.

By the way, the actual exam is only our of 93.

Why is it so low? So does that mean I have get over 74% in the exam to likely obtain a raw SS of 40 in addition to obtaining A+ for the SAC mark.

It is so low because the student achievement on the test was pretty bad thus meaning (in this case) the top 8% of marks were located between 137 and 186.
It varies every year however, this year it might be an easy exam and you need to get 90% to get an A+.

But yes a 40 raw would likely be obtained if you got an A+ on the exam

It was a new course in 2007, which means getting the difficulty just right becomes a bit of a guessing game.

The 2007 SD exam had a particularly difficult algorithm question in the case study which roughly 80% of people received 0 marks for.

I'd expect the 2008 A+ cut-off to be much higher than the 74% of 2007.

It could actually go down. Considering this is the second year of the new SD course.
trends show that the second year of the course is generally the hardest.

Exams are double marked, hence 93 x 2 = 186.
