What are the differences between a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce? Why does the latter need as a pre-requisite methods and the former doesnt?

Give it a bit more time before bumping in future ;) I'm sure you noticed I split your thread too. Hoping someone can answer this soon!

Went to the open day yesterday and picked up some sweet doccos on the subject.

Also, the monash business site will likely be helpful.

Business focuses on the functions of business management and will give you the skills to work in and run an organisation, while Commerce focuses on the application of mathematical and analytical skills (thus methods) in commercial environment. The majors and double degrees are also pretty different in most cases which is something to think about too.

For reference, here's a table of business and commerce majors:
Spoiler
BusinessCommerce
Accounting*Accounting*
Banking and Finance**Actuarial Studies
Business Law (not law-law)Behavioural Commerce
Human Resource ManagementManagement Studies**
International BusinessMarketing Science**
Business Management**Sustainability
Business Statistics**Econometrics**
Economics and Business Strategy        Economics
Marketing**Finance**
Taxation
* 90% sure accounting is the same for both because they're word for word the same in the course guide.
** Similar, but different. (commerce variant is probably more complex)
