What are you intending to major in? :)

I hate how at Melbourne you can't do double degrees though!
Like at Monash:
Science/Arts
Science/Commerce
Science/Computer Science
Science/Law
Science/[insert anything here]

*drool* :(

that might be enough to draw me from melbourne :(

If I get science at melb (chancellors) then I hope to major in Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmacology in 2nd year and Physiology in 3rd year.

At melbourne you can do a diploma in maths alongside your computer science major if you wanted to do more. But yeah, if you really want to do a lot of science then a double is probably your best bet. Also, you can fit the med prereqs, maths and computer science in a normal degree at melbourne. I pretty much did the same thing except did physics+maths instead.

Thushan, I find it a tad funny how you're majoring in very "biomedical" fields :D

Anyways, dc302, yeah I was thinking of doing Med Prereqs, Maths and Computer Science subjects, I looked through the Melbourne handbook and it seems to be ok

Also, do biomedicine and look down on those poor people in a BSc

I wasn't implying that you should :P I was just wondering why you'd choose Science
But nah, I get it now :) - I'm guessing you can transfer credits for your MUEP Chem?

Russ, are you implying that BBioMed people are superior to BSc people?! :(

Correct me if I'm wrong but, you can't do medicinal chem in biomed anyway right?

I was thinking about majoring in physiology but the structure is a little dodgy (you can find this out for yourself though) and also I don't like the fact that it's very broad and "big strokes". It's personal, I probably should have prefaced my original comment with that

Russ, are you implying that BBioMed people are superior to BSc people?! :(

What do you mean "implying"?

My friend's definition of a cytokine is "a chemical messenger thingy". Mine starts with "containing common motifs, such as repeating cysteine residues cytokines are..."

Basically physiology only focuses on the really general stuff, like how the blood buffers pH on a macroscopic level (eg kidneys do this and red blood cells do that). I wanted a major that had a lot more fine detail and key interactions and stuff like that, I didn't want a whole year of just studying the big picture.
