WANTED: English Tutor
« on: January 04, 2008, 09:55:51 am »
Hi.
I am looking for an English tutor to help me next year (Year 12). The person that I had in mind is already booked out..

I'd like someone who has achieved an impressive VCE result in the subject, impressive VCE results overall and has a good knowledge of the new English study design.

I'm willing to consider most payment suggestions. I would be looking at 1 hour/fortnight, either during weekdays (after 4pm) or on weekends. I would prefer to meet the tutor at the state library, at my house (Hampton) or in the Bayside suburbs.

Please email me at [email protected]

Re: English. Get a professional tutor. I can't stress enough how much bullshit it is that students fresh out of VCE English turn around and start tutoring the subject. Most don't have the experience in writing and depth of knowledge that a good, practised English teacher can offer.

Re: Chemistry. His name is Coblin. You'll find his ad in the "advertising" section.

I'm also considering an English tutor, after my disappointing GAT Written Communication result (yet I got B+ on English Unit 2 exam?). Where would you suggest I look for the above-mentioned 'professional  tutor'?

Thanks for the advice, however Alexa's postal suburb is on the other side of the city (I live in Hampton)...

Does anyone else know of or can recommend an outstanding English tutor? Preferably a "professional" tutor.
I've looked at some sites but can only find past VCE students. Could you please refer me to a site where I can find teachers/professional tutors?

WANTED: English Tutor
« Reply #6 on: January 27, 2008, 10:33:49 am »
Hi,
I am still looking for an English tutuor.
The tutor needs to have previous experience in tutoring, impressive VCE/Uni results and a good knowledge of the new English study design. The books I am studying are 1984, Maestro, Witness (film) and Sometimes Gladness. The tutor needs to have studied these texts or be willing to read them.

I'm willing to consider most payment suggestions. I would be looking at 1 hour/fortnight, either during weekdays (after 4pm) or weekends. The ideal days to meet would either be Wednesdays or Fridays. I would prefer to meet the tutor at the state library or in the Bayside suburbs (eg. Hampton, Brighton...)

Please email me at [email protected] if you think you may be suitable.

Where do you find examiners such as these?

The only one I can find is the SuperEnglish Tutor one.
