I'm quite fond of the art of procrastination.. are any of you? How did you overcome it?
Tips on how to keep going, and push through the stress/giving up?

Thank you.

1. Didn't have Facebook to distract me, I only recently made it.
2. Up untill just before mid year exams I didn't have AN to distract me (although its a good form of procrastination, you may learn something relevant while not wasting time).
3. One of the bigger factors that motivated me was that since my family isn't financially "well off", I tried to push myself so that I could have a chance at a scholarship, otherwise it would have been difficult to afford uni books next year. In the end I ended up getting and "excellence and equity" scholarship to Monash Uni so it all worked out. Everytime that I was getting to the point where I was ready to get up and leave, I thought of aiming for this.
4. Having a Goal/Aim for what you want to achieve. If you have this goal, you work harder to achieve it. Those who do not have a goal seem to slack off until exams near closer. e.g. mine was ATAR: 95+ and 40+ SS in everything but English
5. You only get to do this once, don't take the time for granted.
6. All in all you need to keep it balanced, otherwise you will burn out, you still need to have a bit of fun every now and then (to keep you sane :P)
7. Don't study with the computer on, put your phone on silent and away from you, find a quiet place to work with no distractions.
8. On stress, if things don't/didn't go to plan it's not the end of the world. There is always tomorrow.

Good Luck and don't forget to have fun, the year flies by quickly.

EDIT: Might have gone slightly off-topic.

For some reason, I found that hilarious, even though I should be offended.
And correction, bitches love intelligent and somewhat socially awkward men. (Oh shit, not this again)

Anyways, OP: just think of how shitty you'd feel if you got a result you were disappointed with.  Some people I know actually had their aims written around places, like their diaries or a noticeboard. It seemed to have worked for them.

^Disagree (sorry kaz).
IMO, women who display, let's say,
'extremely crude' tendencies don't dig intelligent,
socially awkward men, for fairly obvious reasons.

LOL Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure what Nirbaan referred to as 'bitches' is the female sex, rather than promiscuous women.

Unless your calling me a slut and telling me what I look for in a guy :S

OP: This is what I should have done- taken a picture of myself looking sad and put it in random places to remind myself of how I'd look at the end of the year, being disappointed with what i got. Meh, I do weird shit like that.

Procrastination <3

To overcome it you really have to have a reason to do so. For this reason you should set clear and attainable goals to improve motivation.

It's also probably a good idea to take away all the things which will offer a 'way out' e.g. getting someone to change your facebook password, having your parents take away your gaming console etc.

WHAT. Why the f--- was I not informed earlier.

Nah, I'm not that socially awkward but if you ring me on the phone (doesn't matter if you're guy/girl/other?) prepare for the conversation to go silent within in 20 seconds. Yeah, I really don't like talking on the phone.

@kazdawg

totes just stalked your tumblr and found this:
http://lolsofunny.com/post/14506080984/lets-not-beat-around-the-bush-here-or-shall

hahaha^ so good

EDIT:

SORRY FOR GOING OFF TOPIC

For motivation, my desire to be dux played a bit of a role

A bit of friendly competition can also help
For example:
Four of us in the specialist maths class made a bet (slap bet) with four of the further mathematics students that our scaled scores would beat their scaled scores

And we fucking romped them

But yeah i guess stuff like that can push you a little further
But my main source of motivation was my desire to beat this other kid and make him my bitch

xoxo

Oh LOL fair enough. Nah, I have it on queue, so things I reblogged from a week ago are posted today sorta thing, so I have no idea when everything comes up. I couldnt remember when I put it, so I assumed it would have been from ages ago. Do you by any chance watch Gossip Girl?

I'm pretty sure I've seen you say that before LOL

Also to stay motivated, dont stay up until 4 in the morning, when all this crap comes out of your head. Like my attempts at staying on topic.

lol no, the closest thing I've seen to that is Veronica Mars
but recently I've been thinking that I might try to watch Gossip Girl despite my heterosexuality

edit:

ohh I get why you're asking my if I watch Gossip Girl, it's cause of the 'xoxo nirbaan' thing
yeah no, I'm more of a Dexter/House/Breaking Bad/Scrubs/HIMYM/New Girl/South Park/Desperate Housewives/Futurama/Old School Simpsons type of guy
sorry to disappoint </3
