I'm quite fond of the art of procrastination.. are any of you? How did you overcome it?
Tips on how to keep going, and push through the stress/giving up?
Thank you.
1. Didn't have Facebook to distract me, I only recently made it.
2. Up untill just before mid year exams I didn't have AN to distract me (although its a good form of procrastination, you may learn something relevant while not wasting time).
3. One of the bigger factors that motivated me was that since my family isn't financially "well off", I tried to push myself so that I could have a chance at a scholarship, otherwise it would have been difficult to afford uni books next year. In the end I ended up getting and "excellence and equity" scholarship to Monash Uni so it all worked out. Everytime that I was getting to the point where I was ready to get up and leave, I thought of aiming for this.
4. Having a Goal/Aim for what you want to achieve. If you have this goal, you work harder to achieve it. Those who do not have a goal seem to slack off until exams near closer. e.g. mine was ATAR: 95+ and 40+ SS in everything but English
5. You only get to do this once, don't take the time for granted.
6. All in all you need to keep it balanced, otherwise you will burn out, you still need to have a bit of fun every now and then (to keep you sane
)
7. Don't study with the computer on, put your phone on silent and away from you, find a quiet place to work with no distractions.
8. On stress, if things don't/didn't go to plan it's not the end of the world. There is always tomorrow.
Good Luck and don't forget to have fun, the year flies by quickly.
EDIT: Might have gone slightly off-topic.
