@Comm students, if I did Accounting in VCE, should I try do Accounting in Semester 1 (so all that I learnt is fresh-ish in my mind), or should it not really matter?

Sorry if that is a stupid question  :P

If you plan to major in Accounting then it's highly recommended for you to do ACCT10001 in semester 1 so that you'll be able to complete ACCT10002 and ACCT10003 in semester 2.

Hi everyone,

I've enrolled in my subjects and when I log into my unimelb account and check my financial support page, the scholarship that I was offered and accepted is not showing up. Does anyone know when the scholarship is meant to appear on the site or whether there's something wrong?

Thanks!

SO i noticed in my email it said, "The scholarship can only start, if these details are correctly entered and you have enrolled in your course." With the "details" referring to bank and address details. In the email, the part where it says "bank and address details" was a link to where I can update it.

Can you do more than 4 level 3 psych electives in the b-sci? (I think I remember somewhere that you can use 2 breadth as science electives as well)

Nah it's 4 electives max, alongside the two core subjects. Arts kids are only allowed to do 2 psych electives so you're lucky haha

Tuttut UoM/VTAC. That's a fairly big oversight which affects ~300 people in the AM1 cohort. Hopefully they fix it before class registration in a few weeks.

Hi guys! I am trying to enrol, I'm planning on doing civil systems major in the new bachelor of design, and unfortunately did not do 3/4 methods (i did the 1/2 however, as this new course came out only half way through 2016 i dropped it for further thinking i didn't need it anymore). Because of this I have to do MAST10012 - Introduction to mathematics before I can get on with subjects like calc 1 (MAST100, and have done my enrolment variation form to prove i did the 1/2 and stuff. My question is, does anyone know if I will be able to do these two subjects concurrently and if it will count as an elective subject or a breadth?

Hello, for MCB,how do the practicals work. I'm trying to plan my time table, but it seems confusing. There is practical 1, but then there is also practical 2. t thought that there is suppose to be only one practical. ???

Also are the intra-semester test done in classes/exam style, or can be done at home on a computer like they were in first year.

The MSTs are done in person in an exam-like manner so it's impossible to collude and there are no notes.

We got an email from the coordinator about the pracs. I think you're supposed to overlap them on top of each other as they don't run every week individually.

Hope this helps!

For the electrical systems major, is it recommended you take real analysis then complex or is Eng maths enough?

Not sure, actually. There are plenty of people on this forum from earlier years of Biomed that would definitely know, though.

Reasonable assumption: they are not in a tute slot, or else it'd mean that people sit the MST at different times. From hearsay, I believe everyone sits them together. Therefore you don't need to worry about a gap before class.

Eng maths is enough.

I've got friends who did Real + Complex Analysis. They say although it helps, everything you need to know is taught in Eng maths and the actual electrical subjects.
I only did Eng maths and did well last year.

Keep in mind that Real + Complex Analysis are quite difficult, so it means you will have to study more = less time to work/enjoy your uni life.
Also, your WAM may be lower lol

Yea I was thinking that , its probably suicide lol.  Thanks!
