Can't send PMs

Whenever I try to send or reply to a PM, I get this message:

An Error Has Occurred!
You are not allowed to send personal messages.

It's been happening for a few days now, any help?

Is there a date when PMs will be back up? Sorry if I sound impatient, but I didn't realise how much I relied on the PM system when it comes to note-sharing until now!  :)

There isn't a date unfortunately, and I'm wary on giving one just in case things don't go to plan and the date ends up incorrect. It should be functioning properly again within the week, but tbh it's something I have no idea about (philosophy major not software development top lel not really in the loop), so don't shoot me if I'm wrong!
