1) Anyone can be a vce assessor and a teacher...the exam writer is the only person who can't teach
2) You base your accusations i'm wrong on what basis ??
3) Haters gone hate
4) It's verbatim; argue as much as you want, it's how the system works. Obviously if you ace the Exam but your sacs don't correlate you will be investigated by VCAA. Ultimately what I'm trying to get across is the fact that a person who has a B on their SACS is by no means disadvantaged compared a top rank student with an A+ to get a 50 - it ultimately all comes down to Exam marks for those top few study scores. Trust me, I'm well rehearsed in the system of VCE English and know a lot more about how it all works.
im not gonna trust someone who says 'haters gonna hate'
because no one is hating, only debating
Haha relax, its just a bit of humor ... anyway, all i wanted to do was let people know that it's not the end of the world if you don't get an A+ or on A, or if you drop a mark in the sac, it just comes down to how well you do on your exam for the 50
it's all well and good,
apparently the GAT also plays some role in the english study score?

Actually, not entirely true. The GAT does play some, albeit very minor, role in English SAC scaling.

It'd probably make logical sense if someone did far worse than thought/didn't finish, but as tush said, it'd have to be very minor - the GAT doesn't take into account studying :P

well, the truth is, knowing how the system work can't change your scores which are already set in stone, and also the better you do on the exam, the better score you'll get
hahah your sac scores were quite good at the start of the year though :P :P

even though i've said this 10 times, i'll say it again, you shouldn't have dropped english language =.=

Split this from the original. Interesting discussion.

Ulbasour: can you please find some evidence to complement what your teacher said? VCAA/VCAT website preferably.

Vcaa makes it very clear that 50% of your final study score in english is derived from your sacs. Gat score plays a role only when you do not turn up for the exam.

Ulbasour...according to your testimony, are you saying assesors pick out and pile up 50s, 49s and 48s? If so, do they do this on a score basis? like "oh people who get 59/60 can get a 50" or do they do so on the written quality "oh this essay is a 50"
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
thought it was all done on a computer.
P.S if it helps in your argument, I got 57/60 and a 50 and I was rank1. So sacs count cause im damn sure if I was liek rank 3rd I would not have gotten a 50.

Not entirely true. GAT does not directly affect your study score, yes. It definitely does not affect ur exam score (unless your exam score was way below what your GAT would suggest, in which event a remark will occur). It does, to some extent, affect the way your SAC score scales though.

The GAT barely changes anything, in only 2% of cases does your individual GAT score ever increase your study score (and this is an increment of 0-2).

If you think you can just chop out 3 10s and get a 50 you're also wrong. A member of this forum (Streaker) received 2 10s and 1 9.5 and received a study score of 46. Why? SACs. His exam mark was the highest in the state (IIRC no one got 3x10).

SACs are very important in english, I can't be bothered reading most of the thread but in response to the title;

YES
