To what extent is the oral exam a determinant of study score (for German)?

Hi,

So the title pretty much says it all. In order to get a 40+/45+ study score, does someone have to get full marks for the oral exam?

I'm just asking, because I'm feeling a bit insecure at the moment

No but you'll want ~355/400 on the exam for a 40 and I don't know what for a 45. Maybe 380/400? Guessing.

I got a 45 for German. And got 100% on the oral, didn't drop a mark on a sac and got 68/75 on the written.  I was really nervous on the day of the written and lost easy marks.  Just try and chill out and not do what I did! But at the end of the day.  a 40 and a 45 scale amazingly anyway.  For a 45, I got 370/400

Well, my oral is next week and I am a bit nervous actually. From my practices with my teacher, I noticed that if I lose confidence and happen to stumble on a word within the first 20 seconds, then I pretty much stuff up the rest. So hopefully I don't do this on the day! HAHA. That would be something

Well, 400 is the total amount of marks awarded for the German exam(both oral and written). You should probably look here: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/2012/section3/vce_lote_german_ga12.pdf. This is a grade distribution summary for your subject

they multiply your written exam by 4 (75 x 4 = 300) and then combine it with your oral exam mark (out of 100), so you have a kind of overall exam mark out of 400
