What percentages are equivilent to what grades??

Hey (:

So I've just got the results back from my first English SAC for the year. At my school we can only get our english results in terms of where we sit on a scale of very high, high, medium, low and very low. I wasn't sure if each category would therefore have a range of 20% or if it might be bellcurved more accordingly? Also if anyone knows what this scale is in terms of A+, A, A- etc. it would be greatly appreciated!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure there is no defined percentage for whatever grade for sacs as of now, the grades you will get for the sacs are weighted against the performance of your cohort at the end of the year exams.

So try your best! At my school I think an 85%+ was already an A+ but it varies from school to school. As above, sac marks are heavily influenced by your cohort's performance on the exams.

WAIT!! and also your rank!!! your rank is important in your cohort.

Okay, thanks for your advice.

My teachers are very uptight though and I don't get any information that reflects my standing against the rest of my cohort... As for ranking, that word probably doesn't exist in my school. It is practically forbidden for us to know our ranks or even discuss what they might be...

It's okay, just focus on what you're doing now and try your best!  Because who knows, even if you get an A+ for sacs and B+ for the exam you may end up with a 36, or vice versa.

English grades can vary a lot relative to other subjects (but it depends on the individual too of course), the only thing you can do is your best. Knowing your grade may either be a motivation or deterrent but since you don't know just try harder every time you start to do your next sac.

In my school it went in 10% divisions for the top end.

90%+ = A+
80%+ = A I think and so on.

At every school ive heard of, 90% is A+, 80% is A, then it decreases by 5% increments ie 75% B+ 70% B etc

At our school it's in variating increments of 5 and 10%, so A+ is 95+, A is 85+, B+ is 80 etc

Probably depends on the school. I heard trinity grammar gets a lot of 50s for english every year because Bob Hillman teaches there which is the chief assessor basically. So I expect that school's A+ for english to be 95% haha.
