Am I allowed to change my historical/cultural context artist on the exam?

Im struggling to find complex information about artists my teacher chose us to study this year, so I was wondering if we are allowed to change the artists we write about on the exam? Do you lose marks of you don't write about the same artists as your cohort?

I'm just worried when I get into the exam I won't be able to write really in depth.

The only reason your teacher has prescribed you a particular artist is because it is easier for them to teach.
It does not matter what artist your cohort writes about in the exam.

Some teachers encourage students to choose their own artists which interest them.

If you feel as though you would do better writing on different artists, maybe you should.
