Media YouTube Tutorials by a Past Student

Greetings VCE Media students! I would like to take a moment to share some information about my experience in VCE Media last year (2018), as well as offer some advice on how to do well in the subject if you're just starting out.

A little about me first. I just finished the VCE, with Media being my top subject. I was top of my class and scored A+ in all of my school assessments (My SAT and both of my SACs). The only place I fell short was in my final exam, where I scored a B+ (Not that bad really, but in a subject that is so heavily scaled down, it's the difference between having a study score in the 40s and in the 30s.) Unfortunately, the bell curve plotted against me and I had a raw score of 39 (and a scaled score of 34 or so). VCAA is so cruel...

I might not have recieved the highest score in the state but I still want to share my knowledge with future students. As I have a passion for filmaking that stems outside of my SAT work, I decided to make a series on YouTube offering advice and support on doing well in VCE Media. The current list of episodes is at the bottom of this message, which I will update regularly.

I'll be uploading new episodes weekly (on Mondays, usually) You'll learn more about my personal experiences with each assessment, what went well, what DIDN'T and how YOU can do better. I was obsessed with this subject in year 12 and know A LOT about it, so I'm a good person to come to for advice from a student's perspective. If you've got any specific questions about the current study design or Media in general you can ask me in the Youtube comments and I'll answer them there. You can also ask here, of course.

Here is a link to the YouTube playlist with every episode: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjFCxiACs1NQobj3rd5p03qKF83S7Oszr

For the rest of term 1 the videos are focusing on preparation for SAC 1.
Upload schedule:
Feb 4th: SAC 1 Overview (Already up at time of posting this. Link is in the topic summary.)
Feb 11th: Codes and Conventions overview
Feb 18th: Overview of the written analyses for SAC 1
Feb 25th: Overview of the in-class assessment component of the SAC (where you answer questions, much like any other formal assessment)

That's all I've got planned so far. If you have suggestions for another episode that could be helpful to you and other students, please let me know. I'm also interested in doing a Q&A before the sac for any last minute queries and dilemmas, so let me know if you're keen.

Man, I need to check back here more regularly. It's been more than a month. Not much action, but just in case there are any media students out there who need my help!
The series is STILL happening! Videos are now every TWO weeks (due to uni life kicking in). I think I've done 11 episodes so far.
Check it out with the above links. If you have VCE Media questions, please ask me them in the comments on my YouTube channel as I do not check this forum regularly but I recieve notifications from YouTube.
